Howdy! This is our first blog article for Bitcoinmillionaire from Aivis, Chris, Michael, Natalie
We are based in Berlin, NYC and Kumasi. A lot of our friends knew we were trading Bitcoins and playing with Bitcoin products. They kept asking often how Bitcoin works and if it was safe or risky. They were curious to know more about Bitcoins and try it out but they did not know how to jump into it. The whole idea for Bitcoinmillionaire was born 2 weeks later at a Bitcoin hackathon in early 2014 where we realized that Bitcoin as whole is an abstract concept that normal people don’t understand. The Bitcoin world is mainly full of geeks and early adopters who are passionate about new products or products that take away power from government bodies (decentralization). What is surprisingly very low is the daily active usage of Bitcoins by normal people, i.e. folks who are not be really into tech, not interested in the technical details of
Bitcoins but might want to transact with Bitcoins.
There is one fact that we all can agree on; Bitcoin market penetration will be low if does it not attract the interest of normal consumers to transact with it. There is huge curiosity amongst normal consumers about the potential and risks of Bitcoins and how to transact with it.
The first step in making normal consumers use Bitcoins is educating them about Bitcoins, namely the history, main market players, where to buy it, how to transact with it and risks involved. Educating consumers on Bitcoins is important because it will take away a lot of the negative unfounded fears the media has been spreading about Bitcoin world. A lot of the educational materials out there on Bitcoins is either too boring, long or very technical which automatically turns off normal people. We therefore thought of how we could combine Bitcoin education + entertainment + gaming in a fun and playful way that the person learning will not psychologically realize that he is learning something, but rather playing a game. After the first version is released and we have gathered enough user feedback, we will add more layers on top of Bitcoinmillionaire .
Say hello to the first version of Bitcoinmillionaire, which will be released soon on the iOS and Android store 😉
